In February this year The Hub Ltd commissioned us to manufacture a neon light for the ‘David Bowie is’ exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the world’s greatest museum of art and design. The red neon light was the statement ‘David Bowie is Crossing The Border’ as illustrated below:
The exhibition ran at the V&A from 23rd March until 11th August 2013. The V&A were given access to over 300 objects in the David Bowie Archive from which to curate the first international review of Bowie’s remarkable career. Instruments, original costumes, handwritten lyrics and photography are just some of the objects that featured in the exhibition. https://www.vam.ac.uk/content/exhibitions/david-bowie-is/
‘David Bowie is’ – and along with it our neon light – is now going on world tour. The first stop is the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario) in Canada, where the exhibition will run from September 25th to November 27th 2013.
