With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, there’s much pressure on couples to buck the trend of cards and flowers, and go all out to impress their valentine. When it comes to romance, every girl and guy is different, so whether you’re just in that first flush of romance or have been married for some time it’s clear that Valentine’s day is the best time to show them you care.
So what do you do? With heart shaped boxes of chocolates, perfume and roses being not only cliché but very unimaginative, you need to take a real look at what your loved one likes and what they mean to you to really choose the right way to offer a declaration of love. Ahem…well, who doesn’t love neon?
Author edit: Sorry, if that’s a bit too far, surely you’re accustomed to our puns by now!
One thing you may not have considered, when it comes to showing your love for the special person in your life, is neon. Neon love lights have often been used to light up the darkest corners of the world, so what better way to say “you light up my life” than with a declaration of love in light.
Choosing the design of your neon sign is something that you should really think about before you order. Something that seems cute now might be a bit creepy later, so making it classic, fun, or symbolic is key to getting it right.
You may have a favourite quote from a romantic movie, or you may just wish to go for “I love you” or “ Happy Valentine’s Day”, with a variety of colours and shapes on offer, the world really is your oyster, and the object of your affections will be able to keep your declaration of love for a long while after Valentine’s Day itself.
Neon is a lifetime gift that just keeps on giving!
Although we have included a similar section in our Wedding Neon section of the site, we couldn’t exactly leave it out again given that approximately 6 million people were estimated to have got engaged on Feb 14th 2013.
Interestingly enough, just last week a Seahawks fan in the US proposed to his girlfriend with their house completely painted in neon colours of the Seattle-based NFL team. Personally we think it would have looked a lot better with a bit of neon lighting – but the fans efforts still did the trick as she accepted the proposal!
See, we told you it works!
Of course, if you’re thinking of marking Valentine’s Day with a proposal, then neon signage is definitely the way to go. Whether you’re too shy to say those 3 words and want a sign to do the talking for you, or you’re a romantic who loves the idea of a sign with both of your initials and a ring, or a heart, there’s something special about a neon proposal – and the best thing is, you can display it in your love nest for long after the wedding! So if you want to give the special person in your life a Valentine’s gift that not only says “I love you” on Valentine’s Day, but one that lasts for a long time after, then choosing neon to light up your valentine could be a big hit this year.
