So, following on from our post a couple of days ago, we can reveal that Neon Creations made a neon sign saying ‘RVP’ which was featured in the pre-match build up on ESPN today before the Man Utd vs Norwich game.
The neon light was made as part of a montage that was put together showcasing Robin van Persie on ESPN before the game on Saturday 17th November.
We are waiting to be sent a link of the clip, so once we have this we will post.
For a while now we have been experimenting with the use of Ultra Violet (UV) neon light, and we are really pleased with the effects. The images below show the UV neon sign firstly switched off, and then switched on.
This is a completely unrivalled product, as unlike standard UV blacklight which comes in straight tubes, UV neon tubing can be bent into shapes or words.
The UV neon creates really striking effects when used in combination with fluorescent paints, or vinyls. This looks particularly stunning in dark environments such as nightclubs and bars, but can look equally as good as an art piece in the home.
The pieces that we have manufactured are just to give an idea of how the UV neon light can be used, and the end results that can be achieved, so if you have a particular idea that you would like to explore, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
If you are thinking of using neon to enhance a particular room at home, or maybe to have in the office reception area, you could choose to have an image or abstract shape as a custom made neon sign, rather than have some words in neon.
We have worked on a number of such projects, and I’m sure you will agree that the results are equally as striking as neon text.
This neon sign below was a logo for a club night – ‘Lets Go Crazy’ – which we made using red neon. The middle of the image was enhanced by using red vinyl, just to add more depth to the neon sign.
This Pink Flamingo below was made for an events company for use at a corporate Christmas party:
The bespoke neon sign below was part of the corporate logo for Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw, which they had manufactured for display in their reception area:
The neon swallow below was commissioned by an artist for display in a gallery:
We have also previously made some clouds in neon that were displayed on a living room wall (sorry we don’t have any pics!), and don’t discount simple shapes, which when combined together in abstract colours, can look really good.
If you have any idead that you would like to discuss with us, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
One of our most recent projects has been to make the bing logo in neon lights.
We were approached by Touch Worldwide Ltd, a global consultancy, to recreate the bing logo in neon. We manufactured four neon signs, two in white neon, and two in blue neon, for the Microsoft offices in London.
This project was also slightly unusual as the signs could not be fixed onto the walls, or be hung from anywhere, so we sourced some hanging rails so the signs could be fixed onto these.
Microsoft were so pleased with their finished neon signs, that a couple of weeks after they had them, we had another request for a smaller version of the sign, to be supplied to the Microsoft Seattle office.

At Neon Creations we are finding that people are increasingly setting up home bars (lucky them!), and that they are requesting neon bar signs to add as a finishing touch to the room.
Particularly popular are signs that are supplied on acrylic panels that are cut to the outline of the letters. These are completely custom made, and we can work to a given design, or create a design to your specifications. These signs simply plug into an accessible plug socket.
Our clients often specify the addtion of a neon cocktail glass to the sign, just to give their sign a more retro feel.
In addition to making bar signs for the domestic market, we also make neon bar signs for the commercial market. Again, these usually just plug into a mains socket, or can be supplied for a qualified electrician to install according to IEE wiring regulations.
In addition to traditional custom made neon signs, we are also able to offer other neon products, such as our neon infinity box, which makes a great visual impact in any bar, be it in the home or out on the town.
Please contact us if you would like to discuss your ideas for your own unique neon bar sign.
Love it or hate it, you can’t get away from the fact that Christmas is approaching rapidly, and with that, the annual work Christmas party.
We now have a ‘Happy Christmas’ neon sign, which is available to hire, which will give the perfect finishing touch to that all important event.
The sign measures 900mm x 700mm x 80mm, and comes fully encased in acrylic. It can be fixed directly onto a wall, or hung from chain. This sign simply plugs into a normal plug socket.
The neon itself is red and green, with snowflakes made from silver holographic vinyl.
If you may be interested in hiring this neon light for your Christmas event, please contact us on 01204 655866, or email@example.com, and we can provide you with further information.
So, the bets are on – will dodgy Dave try it on with slinky Cindy? We love Christmas parties!!
At Neon Creations, we pride ourselves on being able to transform logos and personal designs into truly unique neon lights.
Many of our customers approach us with their own design ideas or company logos, and ask our advise on making them into a neon sign. We work very closely with our customers and always give our honest opinion as to whether something will look good or not in neon. Please take a look at these examples of the original design that we were sent, and the finished sign:
Because of the nature of how a neon sign is made, there are some limitations as to what can or can’t be achieved and replicated. A neon sign starts its life as straight pieces of glass tubing, and is bent by hand into shape over a hot flame. Because of this, there are limitations on how small the letters or shapes can be made before they start to lose their definition.
As in the Primrose Bakery example below, on the original drawing there are serifs on some of the letters. Unless this sign had been made really big, then it wasn’t possible to make this part of the design. As you can see from the finished sign, we modified the design slightly, but this didn’t detract from the overall look of the sign.
If you have a design or logo that you have been thinking about getting made into a custom made neon sign, we would love to talk to you about it, and help turn your ideas into neon.
When the BBC chose to use the Swan Centre (where we are located) as their base for part of their filming of ‘All The Small Things’, we were delighted when they paid us a visit for some neon lights that they could use on one of their sets.
The drama, which was screened for 6 weeks from 31st March, starred Sarah Lancashire, Neil Pearson and Richard Fleeshman. Set in the north of England, ‘All The Small Things’ depicts the trials and tribulations of a local choir based in a small town.
The straight sections of blue neon light that we supplied, were used as a backdrop for the stage on which the newly reformed musical group performed.
